A RoomHawk alternative with the record attached
RoomHawk watches rooms for price drops, built around rebooking stays you booked on a cancellable rate. Fermata is built for the decision before you commit: the exact room category, watched nightly against a target you set, with the history to justify it.

How Fermata works
Pick the exact room
Not cheapest at the Park Hyatt. The 1 King Bed, City View, for the nights you actually want.
Set the price you would book at
Your number, grounded in the room’s own history and forward curve, not a drop someone else flags.
We email you the moment it hits
Checked every night. Your alert fires for the room you defined, no other.
What RoomHawk does
RoomHawk is a hotel price tracker, free while in beta, with rebooking at its core: watch a room before you book, or register a stay you already booked on a free-cancellation rate, and it emails you when that room shows up cheaper across the booking sites it checks. The rebooking is yours to do: click the link in the alert, cancel the old booking, rebook at the lower rate.
The move it is built around is real. Across 378,364 room-stays we measured, a lower publicly bookable rate appeared after first sighting on 63.5 percent of them, so a service watching for drops has plenty to find, provided your rate is cancellable and the drop is big enough to be worth the switch.
What an alternative should add
The first thing to ask of any tracker is who defines the alert. A drop alert fires when the price moves, and leaves you to judge whether the new price is worth acting on. Fermata inverts that: you name the nightly rate you would book at, the room’s history in front of you, and the one email you get means your number, reached.
The second is the record. Lower than yesterday is not the same as low: without the room’s own history, an alert is a nudge you cannot evaluate. Every room Fermata tracks carries its nightly record and a forward curve of bookable rates up to 330 days out, so you can see where a price sits against the room’s own season, and where its cheap weeks fall, before you commit to anything.
The third is coverage that matches the stakes. Fermata is deliberately luxury-first, more than 1,500 properties from Aman and Rosewood to Park Hyatt and The Peninsula, because a room that swings hundreds of dollars a night is the room where watching pays for the effort. And because our data shows drops are usually transient windows rather than a new, permanently lower price, the nightly record is also what tells you whether to act on one.
An alert tells you the price moved. A record tells you if it matters
Any tracker can say a price fell. Whether $780 is a good night for that suite in that season is a question only the room’s own history can answer.
Fermata keeps that history, room by room, night by night, and arms your alert with it.

Questions
Is Fermata a RoomHawk alternative?
Yes, with a different center of gravity. Both watch specific rooms rather than a property’s cheapest rate. RoomHawk is built around catching drops so you can rebook a cancellable stay, and is free while in beta. Fermata is built for the decision before you commit: a target price you name, the room’s nightly history and 330-day forward curve, and a deliberately luxury-first registry.
What does a target price change?
A drop alert fires whenever the price moves down; you still have to judge each one. A target alert fires once, at the number you chose with the room’s record in view. Watching becomes a decision you already made, not a stream of judgement calls.
Does Fermata rebook my stay when the price drops?
No. Fermata never touches your reservation. It tells you when the room reaches your number and shows you the record behind it; booking, and rebooking, stay in your hands.
Is Fermata free?
A free account includes one active tracker with a target-price email alert, plus the forward price curve for each hotel’s default room. Premium ($99 a year) raises the limit to 10 trackers and unlocks every room’s curve; Pro ($199 a year) is unlimited.
Which hotels does Fermata cover?
A growing luxury-first roster of more than 1,500 properties: independents and the major luxury chains, from Aman, Rosewood, and Belmond to Park Hyatt, The Peninsula, and Mandarin Oriental. Search the registry to see whether yours is in.
